1. The Dialect Says...
Author ：Liu Yichun, Sun Juyuan, Luo Lin, 2021Dialect is a kind of emotional sustenance and geographical memory, and everyone has different feelings about it. But in modern society, the contradiction between dialect and mandarin is also becoming increasingly obvious. On the one hand, I want to convey the charm of dialect to the audience through the performances, and on the other hand, I want to reflect on this contradictory social state. Therefore, I intend to communicate some ideas through the works.
Inspiration The inspiration comes from my own emotional memory of my hometown and the influence of Mandarin on me in modern society. I want to convey this cultural emotion to more people through artistic effects which merge sound, light body and multimedia. I want people think more about their relations and where they are and keep asking question.
For example, can dialects, as a link between people and their hometown, still awaken people's emotional memories? Can dialects find their place in modern society? What does dialect mean to us? Then through the performance of the works, I will discuss these questions with the audience.
The story mainly reflects that the hometown accent is the invisible connection between the homesick people and their hometown. In the collision between the hometown accent and Mandarin, you can feel the charm of the local dialect and seek the memory of the hometown in your innermost heart.
The end,the familiar dialect reappears; it actually has not disappeared, but has been integrated into people's life in a brand new way by conforming to the times.
At the beginning of the story, the actor enters a complicated environment, where the unity of language makes him feel lonely. He wanted to cut off the flesh and blood relationship with this environment, imagining a more distant and richer past outside it.
Stage Design :
In terms of stage design, I decided to see the actor as part of the stage structure and also represent the time. The actors themselves are the hour hands. They simulate the passing of time through their body movements. The objectification of actors and the personification of dialects are interesting attempts in themselves. Actors representing objective time and light sources interact with the space of the installation.
Further Presentation Of Dynamic Vision
The sound is further processed technically to complete the communication of the whole emotional atmosphere. The story we tell will also be non-linear expressions. In the interlaced flashbacks of time memory, the sense of time and space created by the lighting makes the emotions contained in the dialect more connected to the audience.
In China, experts will design the pronunciation dictionary for each local dialect. You may regard it as the combinations of different initials, vowels, and tones.Splitting each dialect, you can actually get the spelling of its corresponding initials and vowels.
Since each pronunciation can be split and combined, we can usually assign an element with a corresponding value when writing the visualization code, and add the sound wave view of the pronunciation at the same time.In this way, we can create a unique visual presentation of each dialect.
Dialect is a unique regional "cultural specialty”, and its expression is actually closely related to the cultural and historical connotations of local traditions.

Communication rules:Communication plays an important role in a relation.Ensure good communication, in order to accurately receive the needs of the other party, this relationship can continue. In China, people always talk about the combination of human desires and food culture. I used to work in a bar where I could see a lot of relationships grow and change.Think of it as a ceremony.
Roles description :In this relationship, character A is set as a woman with rich emotions. She has a beautiful fantasy about love. When making requests, she always emphasizes fantasy and details, which are often very abstract requirements. Character B is calm and reserved, has a dominant consciousness, and makes requests that are concise, clear, and logical. Hates messes and will clean up the desktop. He is also easily influenced by his surroundings.
Today, people's desires are also reflected in food and drinks. I try to put this contractual relationship into a bar/tending scene, both parties make a glass of wine for each other. I also used a microscope to shoot, and every movement under the microscope is clear. The visual experience conveyed is also stronger

Those sounds have lit up the lights of home, and also the light in the children's hearts. Only when the light is on can home be truly called home.
Conception:The most intimate connection between the parents and the left-behind children are the phone call. Therefore, the phone rings is an symbol of opportunity. When the ringtone rang, the "light" in the home is lit up. The content of the call is visual-
ized as a colorful picture, and it is broadcast on the TV. The clanging of dishes and chopsticks is the sound of the home warmth, the calendar began to flip, was a signal to go home, but when the call ended, everything returned to darkness. and the "light" went out.
ProcessThe vibration module and sound module are activated, and the parent's call is displayed on the Icc screen.Visualize the content of the call and play it on the old-fashioned TV when someone pick up the call. The calendar is a symbol of going home. Children always look forward to the day when their parents go home. When the phone is picked up, the fan module will activate and flip the calendar.

This work is also related to author’s personal emotions, reflecting her childhood memories, she went to the countryside in the south of China because of an art project, where the economy and transportation are not developed, and met a lot of cute children, most of whom were separated from their parents and lived with their grandparents. They reminded when she was a kid, and had a similar experience.which make she think about the meaning of family for children.
